“ I stayed here for a week whilst on business, recently. Mark, Donna and their staff are lovely and couldn't do enough to help. The room was clean and tidy, the bed incredibly comfortable. This pub has an excellent selection of real ales, beers and lagers that will suit all tastes. The chef is a star, the food excellent. I can heartily recommend Pie and Pint Night! There is plenty of parking, too. The only downside was I couldn't get out with my walking boots and a map. I've given five stars all round as it fully deserves top marks. Excellent value for money and in an enviable position. Thank you everyone. ”
“ Great pub, we went on a freezing winter day with a foot of snow either side of the road. The pub was open, welcoming and served us good food. Open fire in the hearth and a lovely old building, what more could you ask for. The food is good, standard pub dishes, but it was all very nice. Better than we had expected from the rating on here. Decent sized portions too. Recommend the mixed grill. ”

“ My partner and I visited the Old Silent Inn for their Valentine special. The food was fantastic, we chose a starter of Tarragon goats cheese risotto cake with a pear puree. The crispy outer complimented the soft inner, it was a lovely unusual starter. For mains we chose pan fried fillet steak, this was just so tender it was like a knife through butter, and it was well done, the shoestring potatoes were quirky, soft and very flavoursome, the sauce was red wine oyster sauce, it was tasty! Dessert was chocolate mousse which was so soft, chocolate truffles on top and a big sweet strawberry. The service was first class, the young man who was running the show that night was so pleasant, he couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing, the chef is excellent. We are already planning a Sunday dinner there very soon. ”
